Walkies: The Annual Charity Walk
This year we joined Walkies, to raise money the for trade's own welfare charity. http://www.booktradecharity.demon.co.uk/ It was a great way to see our friends in publishing and raise money at the same time.
The route led us through most of Bloomsbury's most established publishing houses and down to Haymarket, where we ended the evening at a private party at Tiger Tiger.

Joanna's Smokin' Farewell
With the new anti smoking legislature coming into full force throughout England this summer, the staff and friends of BWJ paid fond fairwell to Joanna's, http://www.joannas.uk.com/ Crystal Palace's acclaimed neighbourhood restaurant and lunchtime haunt of the "man in black" for a quater of a century.
It came as a great relief, a few months ago, when the laws were relaxed and smoking was again allowed, this time in the veranda section in front of the restaurant.
